NameBeam · for agencies

September 1 to 27, 2026: 27 run days in 22 local US markets, plus 2 US nationwide panels for 24 markets in total. Every answer dated. About 84% of named businesses appear in only one winner set, and about two-thirds of Google-cited businesses (84 of 130 in the 24 report markets) never appear in Perplexity's top-10 in the same market.

3 in 4

About 3 in 4 businesses Google cites in a market do not appear in Perplexity's top-10 there (99 of 130 across our 24 September 2026 market reports; Google-cited businesses on each report page checked by name, case-insensitive, against that report's Perplexity most-named list of up to 10; record window 2026-09-01 to 2026-09-30; counted 2026-10-08). Denver: 5 to 6 of 6 Google-cited roofers absent, and Denver Google data covers Sept 19 to 28 only. In this record, the businesses Google cites and the businesses Perplexity names are mostly different, so a Google ranking does not tell you whether an AI engine names the business.

7 of 9

local markets asked about roofers, HVAC techs or lawyers where Claude named no business on any answer day (Sept 1 to 28). The engines don't agree with each other, or with Google. Somebody has to show the client the receipts. That's you, with this pack.

One check a month sees one day.

In our September 1 to 27, 2026 record, 30 of 1,135 business and engine pairs were named on every day that engine answered. 339 of 1,135 were named on between 2 and 8 of every 10 answered days. For those businesses, a single monthly check can come back either way. Corrected 2026-10-06: non-business phrases removed from the count. See the stability data
